The age
Tuesday, April 20 11:24 PM

I only have 2 more days till the end of my uni life.
I only have 2 more days till my numerical age adds one.

Which sentence is/should be more important?

I'm in slight disbelief. More so at the first sentence. I wonder if i'm emotionally ready to handle being a non-student, which to me, is a bigger deal than adding one more candle on my birthday cake.

When I was 21, that technically made me an adult. However, changing age in the midst of an ongoing studying lifestyle meant that nothing drastic changed. Friends asked: "how do you feel?" I answered: "i feel the same". The day before I turned 21, I had assignments to complete, lectures to attend, exams to study for. The day after I turned 21, I still had assignments to complete, lectures to attend, exams to study for. The same cyle with the same duties and responsibilities. My pocket allowance didn't go up or down. The amount of household chores didnt increase. I did not wake up and gained spider-related abilities. I think education blunts the the transition of age.

And now on friday, I'll wake up in the morning, one year older, and with the propect of no more "next sem, another chance to increase my gpa", and no more "enjoy these months of rest before going back to studying". Weird! =)

Shaking things up

Yesterday I was saying that army has this cool image. But today, ...haiyo!! This afternoon my family got news from my brother of the screwed-up posting situation. I can imagine 45 sets of grouchy parents and their sons ><"

I have no mood to study right now. The whole house is filled with adrenaline, and the center of it is my brother and his room. Recently he completed his BMT and on friday he got his posting and instructions to report to camp tomorrow. Light Strike! Sounds cool right =) but i've never heard of it before...the ppl i've talked to always mention some vehicle...

An hour ago he was stuffing items into the humongously big bag, while I sat on his bed and teased him about the frightening things he'll probably have to do. It's quite funny to make your brother anxious, especially when he's about to take a bit step in his army life! (This is also to make up for the lack of scare-tactics on him when he entered BMT) HOHO~

My parents were definitely kinder to my brother, compared to what i did/doing. Dad pops into the room once in a while to ascertain the reporting time, and check if he needs to buy any important items; Mum helps to prod his memory of essential things to bring to camp. Afterall, the instructions were very brief, so...bring as much as possible?? My mum and I each tried lifting up the half-packed bag and we failed - this means my brother is strong!! Even the boots are damn heavy, although i spent a few minutes happily clomping around the living room in them.

So many things for a soldier to bring.

Actually I used to think army is super cool <-- last time when I told wf that, he told me i was brainwashed by those army tv advertisements. So now, i've tone down and see it as cool although it can suck some times.

Still, all the best to my brother =)))) Tahan all the bad stuff and soon u'll be free! (to enter uni)

On the second last sesson of HMJ3, I made origami!

TADA~! Fujita sensei bought origami paper and then proceeded to teach the whole class how to fold a cube/ball and a ninja star. I heard that the patterned origami paper is not cheap, about $10 at kino for a thin packet wor~~

I really like this Japanese class. The people are friendly and approachable! I think it's a bit wasted that I forgot to bring my camera and take a group shot, or at least a pic with my sensei. Luckily there's still facebook =)

Random pics

I'm here blogging instead of

1.resting. My fyp late nights and accumulated stress eventually morphed into a running nose and a very sore throat. I'm sick ><

2. studying for my jap oral which is tomorrow. Right now the drowsy flu medicine is kicking in, and everything is becoming a bit muted and ...woozy? I'm not sure, but the drowsy feeling is starting to irritate me because I want to concentrate on my jap textbook.

Since I'm fighting to stay coherent, here are some random pics taken from my hp/camera:

#1. Steamboat at ah gong's hall, where we accidentally bought too much food, couldn't finish, and had to call in reinforcements to help out. For the most of us, this was our post-fyp celebration. This was also where SF got to know my lovely friends and vice versa! (I'm so blessed to have good roomies in all my four years in hall) Too bad I dont have the group pic. (Must rem to kope from ting)
I also think I got emo at one point, so many happy couples... Happy for them of course!

#2. Me. Acting serious. Self-taken photo of my completed work - all sweat, effort, late nights, tears, headaches, and many hours conducting experiments with my group mates huey hui and jia ying! Plus all the help from my sweet supervisor Venus! Learnt alot!

#3. Talentime singing competition which happened some time ago. SF and I just went there for fun, and to kaypoh.

#4. My hall has such a talented banner committee. Throughout this sem, I kept seeing new banners. "Good luck for exams" "Congrats for winning sports" "Hall supper" <-- I'm not kidding about the last one.
