Insects, get lost!
Friday, August 31 4:51 PM
OH MY GAWD!
I went to empty my dustin and saw a freaking leggy spider...
...killed the spider, wiped e cobwebs away.
and then something next to the web wiggled...
...a two inch long centipede (not! millipede ah) raced towards my bed...
...threw some tissue over and put my hardcover abnormal textbook over it...
...propped up the textbook and it ran out towards the bed leg...
...lost my nerve and threw the textbook on the worm-like creature...
...RIP centipede.
By now I was understandably jittery and went out of my room...
...and saw another disgusting spider hanging over my shoe...
...rained blows on the creature using a slipper.

oh my poor poor heart. I just suffered from a traumatic experience...and when I finally calmed down and returned to my room, a mosquito slipped in, and it's still lurking about! Stephie was scared that she wore her jacket (to protect arms), and instead got bitten on the leg within 5 mins.
Next week: bringing Insect Repellant!
note: saw something today that is possibly very interesting. will keep a look-out to confirm it
random thots today
Tuesday, August 28 1:02 AM
I carried my 'shower basket', strolling to the toilet,
and then I glanced across the wide expanse of space,
into the open door of a room on the opposite side of the blk
....and saw Jieyang and Wei Zhen studying.
First thot: "damn!! they're studying. why am i not studying"
After thot: "actually...i still feel like gg back to continue reading my book, and then, do a bit of blogging. =p"
Conclusion: stephie is not that stressed yet, but tt's not a good thing tho.

living next to a pantry
Thursday, August 23 11:52 PM
Damn it! Someone in the pantry next door is cooking maggie mee, like there's no tomorrow. The fragrant smell is wafting, no, charging into my room.
I'm hungry.

hp204 experience sampling
12:00 AM
Guess what, during personality psych "experience sampling", hh and I were both happy on monday night hahah
well, that's because Manic celebrated Hq AND Jul's bdays at Ichiban. And after munching happily on sushi, the cheesecake birthday cake was brought out! We each had a thick slice (yum!) See pics --->

another thing I found out during the tutorial was that both Siti and I cheer ourselves up by listening to music *grin*
- such random similarities make stephie happy -
arts show and huiqi bday
Monday, August 20 1:08 AM
On fri night, me, vic, ka yan (long time no see!) visited the arts house to see a show. A first time experience for us, altho we didnt really get the show la LOL. Too bad, I only hav a pic of the artwork in the...erm art house toilet. sorry lah, didn't have time after the show. next time k.

See, each square is made up of tiny stone pieces joined together. haha! (yes, super dots)
-----------~
and then a few hours before that...was Huiqi's Belated Birthday Present-giving Time!!!

This is my 'clique' in Psych. We're Manic! And school's fun with them around!

And since we're Manic, we gave Huiqi a yummylicious Manic cookie cake! Straight from Famous Amos. And after that, we kept popping pieces of it in our mouths *grin*

Panicked and lost my head
Saturday, August 18 7:03 PM
I was quite blur yesterday...almost lost stripey and the book. Went back to the toilet to look for it, and when I saw it wasn't there, I suddenly had this horrible feeling that someone had stole it. I panicked, called ting, and generally made a fool of myself walking up and down that area staring at people suspiciously.
And then ting arrived, and we found that I went to the wrong toilet. *hits myself on the forehead*
today steph's not feeling gd
Thursday, August 16 9:19 PM
My french teacher's Isabelle, not Sabine. Sabine's teaching the other class, and altho Isabelle's nice (she taught me french 1), I still prefer Sabine haha. No offense I hope.
But today I didn't go for french tut today even though I much wanted to. I think halfway through R's class I had this stomachache, and then after class it became much worse. So, I went back to hall , and slept. (heh tt sounds so boring, sorri ppl, i'm just blogging it down for record sake)
Tmr i'll be going for french makeup class....will be skipping the first half hr of cognitive lect...hope P doesnt mind. I'm not even going to think about the fact that I have to crawl into lecture late. *ignores thot* next!
----------------~
Other than that, i'm getting really frustrated. and I mean really really
really frustrated!
so what if I have no roomie, making the room a silent cage.
so what if my neighbour likes to keep to herself.
so what if everyone else keeps in grps and leaves me out.
so what if there's no one to pei me to hall events or to join stuff.
so what if there's no one to talk to when i'm feeling like this (jieyang has weizheng...how lucky)
and so what if princess gives me the black face every time she sees me.
i'll keep smiling and saying hi. It's not the end of the world.
rawrrr this is such an angst post, must stop being so sensitive even tho it seems my hall life is a zero.

French is starting to make me anxious. Edventure keeps changing the french tutor, so at first it was Isabelle, then Jean Francois,
then now Isabelle AND Jean Francois. So who's gg to be teaching me???
Last night I dreamt that I was climbing some stairs, carrying my french bks, on the way to class. Nearing the top, Sabine (my fav teacher!) passed by. She was ..erm...skipping. haha. But she went into another room, and I realised tt my french tutor for this sem was the "Horrible Scary Speaks-like-a-bullet-train French Lady" who took me for oral last sem.
And she wouldn't let me into the class! =( With her hair tied up in a bun, she looked sternly at me and said I was to picked up some rubbish at the door. Then with the rubbish staining my hands, I wandered up and down the corridor looking for the non-existent rubbish bin. And everytime I passed by the class, i'll peak through the windows and see them enjoying their french lesson.
I felt so left out. And dumb, for letting her bully me like this. She called me dumb. I
hate it. I should hav gone to find Sabine. Sabine won't laugh at me for not knowing stuff.
Sigh. I'll let ya noe who's my real tutor next wk.

The Little Girl was much better at RDA today. The best behavior of all, I think. And me and Li Tian realised that if you keep asking her to spell stuff/identify colours/give high fives, she won't be bored enough to disobey you and lean forward on the horse. Go us!!!
And things like simple commands ("Let go" "Sit straight" "Raise your arms") and the occasional poking at the shoulder when she leans forwards work! I think today I finally managed to give a gd report of her session.

HAPPY NATIONAL DAY!!!
The not fun side of sch
Wednesday, August 8 11:19 PM
I seem to hav forgotten alot of things abt sch, and hall. Tiny but still significant details, like crawling up the stairs at NIE, and then panting for breath at the top.
And then there's the insane madness of queueing up for textbks, squeezing with the crowd, and later carrying the heavy load around. The sharp book edges even tore through e plastic bag. And let's not talk abt the costs of those
thick books yet. Speaking of thick books, cognitive psych's bk looks a horror, with its chunks of words and few pictures to speak of.
I must be optimistic!Sad to say, I'm not very optimistic about my future behavior in lectures. Prof Long's personality psych was okay for an introductory lecture, but he started talking alot of stuff in the beginning, and I was waiting for him to start the real lect, and say "now, let's get down to the lesson for today". One hour later, and he was still going on abt past cases, surveys, and his personal opinions abt them. THEN i horrifiedly realised that
this was the lesson. piangz!!!
Hh said, "no wonder you weren't taking any notes at all". Sometimes I can't believe myself, and the things i do.
But the day wasn't over, and after some avid book-buying, the few of us rushed over for forensic science lecture. Now, the admin has squeezed the 1200 forensic sci students into the biggest teaching space they could find. Entering the lect venue was like stepping into a grand concert hall, with row and rows of plush red cushion chairs, and a huge stage with curtains to boot.
We sat near the back, and when the prof showed us a textbk, i could hardly see the front cover - prof himself looked tiny from far too. But tt was just me not being used to the venue. Anyway past murder cases were rather interesting (in a morbid way), altho a few of us cringed at some parts. I only have one thing to complain abt - the chairs.
Cramped leg room = stephie who feels trapped and pissed. I pity the guys who are taller and hav longer legs.
I tolerated the enclosed space for 3 hrs, and then, it was time to go home!!! I didn't stop by my room today, cos i wanted to get home sooner. Luv the feeling of gg home ^^ I always felt much free-er at home, unlike hall. I feel trapped if i stay in the room too long. Funny, won't that make me feel like a caged thing?
Wonder wat's my roomie like....and whether she has moved in yet. Guess I'll stop by on fri.

previous post: "what the hell is wrong with the system" <---- apparently there
was something wrong with e system, and it wasn't just me that was affected, everyone else too. Heard the freshies panicked. Poor things, such a welcome to uni.
So at around mid-morning, the system was righted, everything was back to normal, and there was a collective sigh of relief. And surprise, surprise...i got the modules i'd wanted. With a balloting system, and twice as many hopefuls, steph here managed to score a place at the highly popular (and highly anticipated, no doubt)
Forensic Science. Whooosh!!!
Now with 3 psych, french, and forensic science, i'm all set to rock this sem! *detect ecstatic tone*
Anwae, psych orientation day was ok too =) Although next year i'll want to be a GL =p
----------~
On another note, RDA on saturday was still as tiring, and even more so frustrating this time. Playful little girl made a wild snatch at my hair, and managed to grab a handful of my cloth scrunchie. So there was this moment when I wrestled with her while shouting at her to "let go!". All this next to a horse. Good gosh! Thankfully it (the horse) wasn't Blossom or we might have gotten kicked.
I could feel, from the moment she arrived, that she was in a rather distracted sort of mood. Tell her to do warm-ups and she looked elsewhere. Give her simple instructions and she'll act like she didn't hear. Ask her to sit up straight and she'll bend over and hug the horse. I think she almost slid out of the saddle once.
It got to the point where we were almost begging her, and eventually Susan came over and took charge, with the dire warning that if she "do that again, she'll be taken off the horse". So she listened, rather grudgingly though.
I tell you, if next week she does that again, I'll bring her to the centre of the arena, stop the horse, get her to bend forward and stay like that for 15 mins. The saddle gets in the way when she bends, and it'll be very uncomfortable, and ...it'll serve her right!
I'm so nice to her, and she still so uncooperative. I know she understands perfectly what i'm saying, and she likes attention, so she's doing all these to test how far she can push me, testing the boundaries. Next week will have to use the 'Bad cop, Good cop' routine le!
At least it ended quite well, and me and some of the volunteering ended up gossipping about too-flirty guys while waiting for the bus. haha!
waiting for ger-pe

what the hell is wrong with the system????!!!!!!!!
sigh. I just went on edventure to check, and the french mod is missing.
gone. disappeared. rawrrrrr. So what does that mean? Could it be that the teacher suddenly decided to take me off the list?
And they said registered GERPE will be announced on 3aug. Well, i've stayed up so late, just so that I can enter in and check at the stroke of midnight. Midnight's come and gone, and still, I keep seeing the words "waitlist". ALL of my ger-pe are on waitlist?!
*remains calm*
this is so stupid! I thought it'll be auto-updated or something. Don't tell me that the onli registered subjects for this sem are psych... i'll just
die during add/drop then, and take up some ulu-who-knows-what module. Probably something to do with computers (
joking! *touches wood*)
new blogskin
Thursday, August 2 7:37 PM
It stands to reason that changes should be made at an important point in life, hence
new sch year, new blogskin.
Anyway this time I didn't take so long to choose one, partly because I wasn't in the "let's have fun" mood, and also because seeing so many choices made me giddy. In the end, it was more of a "pounce on the first likeable one and take it" choice, although the bus pic definitely reminds me of the nursury rhyme, sung when I was cute and innocent.
That reminds me of kids, which in turn reminds me of *drumroll* freshies!! Yah I know some of them are older than me, but that's not the point. The point is, tmr's psych orientation, and i'm suddenly very worried that they (freshies, not kids) will not see the link between the clues and the mystery person. Mayb they'll go back with ?question marks? surrounding their heads, and then weeks later, after attending a few lectures, finally realise what had been going on. Come to think of it, it'll help them to familarize with certain words...which is a long-term goodness. Assuming that no one starts to rethink his/her decision to take psych after 3aug, of coz =p
Cheers to tmr!!!
