In Georgia sunday
Monday, December 31 8:13 AM
Raining again. And everything becomes dreary, and cold.
Despite the fact that it's only 12 degrees, the rain and the wind seems to make it feel colder than what is shown on the weather forecast. Most of the time I'll dash from the hotel to the car, and sprint from the car to the shopping mall/shops, and flee back into the warmth of the car later. So unglam, right
Or it could be due to the fact that I insist on leaving my long johns in the suitcase. Long johns are good for keeping out the cold, but stifling when it's hot. 12 degrees outside, but 22 degrees (I think) inside. And since I spend most of my time in stores, you'll agree that it's better to dress for indoors yeah?? Haha.
Weird logic, I know.
Oh and I got my hp, my very own USA phone line, plus my iron (sans ironing board...can't imagine bringing it up to hostel)
I'm still searching for a rice cooker and hairdryer...
And I went to check out the campus. I LUV MY APPARTMENT BUILDING. Got bbq pits, next to a small field, and next to a pool table. Do you know what that means?
Roasted Marshmellows! ^^
Mm, we shall buy those marshmellows and eat them when they're hot and melted, ok?
Lastly, I went to this small chinese restaurant for dinner, and saw my first ABC. Ok, there were 2 of them. hahha i think what xian n ting said about ABCs r right. But ah, they dont speak chinese...they speak japanese.
*grin* dont worry lah, i'm joking, i'm not about to fall for some ABC ok? relax.
Reached georgia

I'm in Georgia!!! ^^
It seems that as we traveled south, down N.America, it gets warmer. 12 degrees here~ I luve it! It's not freezing cold as I expected, so no snow, no snowman, and no snowball fights =( oh well oh well.
Bad news is that it's a rainy weekend. Everywhere's wet, even now at 7am. The rain made driving difficult yesterday, coupled with the low-hanging clouds (like genting highlands). Driving on the interstate isn't easy. Lots of trucks and most people drive slightly over the speed limit. Once in a while, you look in the rearview mirror and see a "terminator 2" monster truck coming closer and closer, then it'll fill the whole mirror. So you either give way and switch to another lane, or speed up.
Oh ya, upon entering Geogia (from South Carolina), one of the first stores I saw after crossing the border was a gun shop. Something you don't see at home.
And then 1 hr later (lots of miles away from said gun shop), I saw warehouses! Bath & Bodyworks! Nike! Billabong! Tommy Hilfiger! {shopping rush} Too bad it's too far from Atlanta city, probably 1+ hrs drive.
-----------------------------------
Results were good, although the mugging was nightmarish. Thank God for giving me stamina to last through the mugging period, and for giving me nice friends to mug with. heehee.
-----------------------------------
Note to myself: must learn how to make egg drop soup (half chicken stock, half flour water, scrambled egg into water when boiling. erm. pepper. food taster. emergency number to hospital)
Driving down to Georgia
Friday, December 28 8:29 AM
Just reached Days Inn after a long day on the road - we covered 450 miles (my dad is like some super-driver!) Today's route was more scenic, around the mountains and hills. I saw cows! sheep! horses! wild geese! hahahha. I wonder what it'll be like to live on the hill in the open country, next to a river, and owning a few black cows. Everyday, blue skies above you, and cold fresh air to breathe. Unfortunately I'll have to buy groceries to last for months, and travel miles to get petrol for my car.
It isn't so cold now that I'm heading south. 7 degrees in Virginia. Not bad right? =D I think a jacket and a thick coat with jeans and shoes is enough. Too bad it rains sometimes (not like the downpours in s'pore) making everywhere colder and wetter. Still, I'm keeping my thermal long johns (just in case). Oh yah, last night I woke up shivering, and had to wear my thick long coat - silly hotel turned off the heater.
I can't wait for tomorrow - nearer and nearer to Georgia. Then I'll buy my stuff, get some rice (it's only 2 days and i'm sick of fast food already!!!).
Entering USA
Thursday, December 27 11:01 AM
25th around midnight - left S'pore. Thank you for sending me off at the airport peeps! (thx jia for calling too!) (thx for all the "goodluck" smses!) and ah min's cushion was wonderful, i kept hugging it in the plane *grins*
after 13 hrs to transit in germany, and then 8 hrs from germany to JFK (goodness! 21 hrs!) I have watched an amazing number of inflight movies (stardust, ratatouille, death at a funeral, transformers, hunting and gathering aka ensemble c'est tout). SIA's inflight entertainment rox
26th - and after driving (my dad, not me. duh) for hours along traffic-jam-packed highways (due to the post-christmas rush), we eventually stopped at Comfort Inn, where i'm estatic at the existing internet connection. Oh and I just ate dinner too (s'pore time 11am. weird huh).
More stone-inducing driving tmr. bleah. And yes, I have jetlag due to my confused bodyclock. haha. It's cold here too, -1 degrees, so i'm v.thankful for my warm clothes.
Luv ya peeps~

Merry Merry Happy Happy Christmas to one and all!!!christmas - GOD - joy - peace - love - giving - friends - smiles - warmth - food - songs =D
I totally look forward to Christmas, because it always means family and friends, and no fights, and everyone's all so kind. There's laughter, there's my brother's birthday, and there's opening presents while christmas songs fill the house.
When I was young, I innocently assumed that EVERYONE celebrates Christmas, has a christmas tree, and adores the occasion as much as I do. The huge shocker came much later on.
Now it's not surprising anymore, although I do feel like those friends of mine are missing out on something fun. Heh. At least Orchard Road is decorated and the shopping centres are bright and cheerful ^^ Merry Christmas peeps!

So many things to do *groans* and each person is only allowed 2 luggages (unfortunately). I'm still in the midst of packing - my room has become a war zone. (Just started packing today) If only I have one of those Harry Potter spells to make the inside of objects bigger than the outside. 5 months require
way too much stuff!
Other than shouting "help me shrink all my things!", I know I'll be missing alot when I leave, and at the same time, there are some things that I'll be glad to get away from. It's a confusing mix of both. On one hand, family_friends_food_trex room will all be missed.
And on the other hand, my birthday. I think these few months were emotionally hard, but I'm glad that I still managed to focus on my books (with lotsa help, of cos ^^). Special thanks to ting, vic, and the makers of raisin bread(ha!). Without u all, I would have had more night-walks.
Oh ya! I'll miss Ribena!!!
------------------------------------------------
On another note: I'm so happy for ting!!! I think I accidentally shouted into the phone yesterday hahahhaha opps sorri. Jiayou, it's a new chapter in your life!!! =) And I think u'd better starting learning the language of 0 and 1s - easier to communicate. (and I can't believe xian la...went to slp at the wrong time lolx) I'm so glad I don't have to go overseas and wonder what's the ending going to be like. This is the first time I see from beginning to the end leh! So cool!
Anyway manic, the next person is gg to be Hh or Jy okok?? I give u all 5 months, when we come back, we want to see
results!

Three
consecutive nights
headaches
panadols
You know, I'm almost used to the pressure in my head and the occasional twinges of pain. It's becoming... uncomfortable. Not unbearable. (And ain't I lucky that it is rather mild) But still,
headache headache go away, come again another day, and just maybe I won't have to take another panadol tomorrow.
Well at least it could have been worse - poor mm got a fever from all those jabs she had to take. Me, I only had to take 1 teeny weeny flu shot, hence no fever. Although after the injection, my left arm got quite sore, and it was not easy to keep reminding myself to sleep on my right side. It's alright now, my left arm, I mean.
I've also managed to attend another 21st birthday party. SHARON's! hahaha it was cool, and an added bonus was I managed to get to know a few more ppl from psych. And did I mention Chocolate Cake? As in, huge big thick slab Chocolate-on the inside-Chocolate-on the outside-Cake? In my opinion, a birthday is not complete without a chocolate cake. (oh and
of cos family, candles, birthday song, etc etc)
So, now the main question is: Where are the pics? Where are the visual proofs that I was there, and I'm not merely hallucinating (unlike x hhahha)?
Ans: Sorry. pics still with Siti.
Akan Datang. "Coming soon to a theatre near you"
In other (random) news, I watched The Cat In The Hat. + I cooked fish porridge and my brother said "better". + My mom bought me a long coat - I am now one step closer to my standard of chic.
