This thurs my family, grandma, and I will be going to see Pirates of the Caribbean...so nice, can get to eat cheese nachos and sweet popcorn in the cinema ambiance =)
This is also another chance to see Johnny Depp! again!
However i've been reading bad reviews about this 3rd sequel, so I shouldn't expect much out of it this time. (judging by the first two which Depp has saved) It's quite sad when the actors/actresses are good but the film doesn't make much use of their acting prowess. A film NEEDS superb characterization dammit! No use of flimsy stereotypes and enlarged action scenes when I'm unable to feel for the person(s) *frowns*
hmm oh well, grumpy old me. =p
chinese teeth
Sunday, May 27 10:10 PM
These few days, after every single meal, my mum will be there to 'nag' me to brush my teeth. Or in her own words, "clean the food bits" - the first time i heard that, i went "what???!?"
aiyoooo save me!
it's one long ritual of 'eat; listen to lecture; brush teeth; listen to lecture'. Of course my bro and dad keeps quiet and bo chap, cos i think it's safer when you're not the focus of mum's heart-talk. goodness! the can of golden potato chips is staring at me but yours truly will not give in to temptation for fear of The Dreaded Ritual. =)
Anyway, I've also been comforting myself with watching drama! It's ok! although watching it gives me violent thoughts...felt like boxing, slapping, and shouting at some of the characters. They really are
stupid, and oh wells, ke ai too. The drama gives me eye-rolling exercise.
oh! and it's improving my chinese too! On the first disc, i'll hit the pause button to figure out what they said, but
now, i'm hitting the pause button less and less le!! *grins happily* And let me tell you something else, today i knew a word that my mum and bro didn't know hahahhahah it's geng3 ye4 tada!!! haha so rare, so must boast a bit hor, don't mind. so li hai ^^

My previously surpressed bad luck suddenly reared its ugly head yesterday.
- Last evening, ting asked me to check my email, and i saw that my hall application was rejected. wth. I wasnt expecting anything like this =( felt pissed and disappointed
- Visited the dentist this morning for scaling and polishing, and got irritated by the slow service. And then, the dentist said "you have a tooth decay". .... ... i was in a daze on the way back, and my mum reacted to the news in her shocked half-accusing-a-bit-hurting-and-vaguely-tactless way. tsk
- After they left the house, i checked edventure for next tuesday's notes uploads, and realised the test results were out. My brain registed a pathetic small
low number. Oh god.
I feel like, dunno maybe sitting in a corner and just staring blankly into space, and not thinking, although that'll be impossible. Just sitting quietly, calmly, and eventually realising that "hey! it ain't so bad. little bitty things won't kill you". Hmmm oh wells =)

omg! my quiz day is
less than two weeks time!!!
oh no oh no seriously what have i been doing?!?! slacking around no doubt, and stoning during class. I haven't read my textbook for goodness sake. *moans*
It's 20%.
If it was something miserly, like 5%, then I wouldn't be so worried. But 20%!! I forsee i'll need the marks, especially since the final main exam is going to be closed-book, with probably lots of mind-numbing "debit/credit" stuff.
Up to now I still don't get what was taught =( And this is depressing because I should be smart enough to get it, and I want more time to play instead of trying to understand things. grrrr

12:27 PM
yes! i've finished reading Time Traveler's Wife.
Time-travelling ability has been my no.1 fav superpower ever since...hmm sec 1, sec2? haha someone asked me, and i went back and thought really hard abt it, and came up with all sorts of details and rules tt'll govern my superpower. It's
not ex-actly the same as the type in the book though.
Anyway yesterday's class was quite a horror. It's already quite confusing with alternating terms and new keywords, but halfway through the lesson the teacher suddenly picked up speed (aka accelerated alarmingly)
"and so you debit this, and credit that....and if the person pays you late, you debit that and credit this/that..."
freakyyyy!!!1 hour of this and my brain became ...
shamooshh-edDo you know what happens when things go too fast? I'll feel like a sloth that has been strapped to a roller coaster - the fast ones, mind you, with all the drops and twists, and turns, and a loop-de-loop as the pièce de résistance.
Everything rushes past and it's like trying to catch the leaves in hurricane. (actually, it's also a bit like talking spss to xian and yam *grin*) sigh sigh
sighi guess i'll have to study...mayb tomorrow??

warning: weird post
My marketing books are going to be leaving me soon - yi yi bu she de gan jue!!!
The smaller one looks so cute/neat, and i've placed tiny notes on certain pages. Even the spine looks new for its age (biological age ha!). And now, I won't be seeing it again. damn. the next owner had better treat it well, or else...oh wells, it's not even like I can do anything, and the book doesn't have feelings.
Animism right? Calling a book 'cute' and feeling sad to let it go - sounds so illogical, but there's no other way to explain it. When a person has come to grudgingly appreciate a subject, been influenced so much by it, and invested so much time, energy and tears (yes, even tears over the stressful periods), the person inevitably clings to it? In a way, letting go of the book symbolises waving goodbye and acknowledging that it was just a fling, a falling star, a melting snowflake.
*grin* ok i like that sentence
even though it was "over-the-top drama". heh
and on another note (but same topic):
G, you had better by treating my social psych textbook rite!!!
If you're, in any way, crumpling the edges, folding the corners, tearing the pages (god forbid!), spilling disgusting stuff to disfigure it, giving it to small kids to play with, and bascially not showing my baby (aka book) respect, I
WILL Make You Regret.
*gives fierce face*
Pls pls pls don't make me regret not buying a protective plastic bookcover/lending you the book...-very serious stephie-
special sem
Monday, May 7 7:45 PM
Today is monday, and after a nice (slightly mad) mac breakfast with friends, the reality that
School Starts Tomorrow has finally sunk in.
Pls pls pls let the class be full of nice interesting people that want to be my friend.
lol, ok, not so extreme but if I have to do a project, hopefully my group members will be hardworking and fun to work with. Marketing's project group was good, wayyy much better than my management, so hopefully the trend of "it-just-gets-better" continues =)
I think, it'll be nice if I can find someone who's taking all the biz courses with me, then it won't be so difficult gg for class and meeting people for the first time. After enduring EE8086 and MB106 in sem 1, the loneliness became so painful that I told myself I would never attempt to take another tutorial alone. And then I lost my mind and went ahead to take Marketing and LF81.
Must have been crazy yah? haha but it was a blessing in disguise. I got to know some really very cool wacky people - g, z, v, i, j, gx, wz - which made me feel "hey, it's not so bad this time". It was really heartening to hear from jy that z 'announced' to his friends that we got an
A. And I hope i'll be taking LF82 next time with i, j, and wx.
So let me cross my fingers and blaze ahead =)
